Bringing Harvested Energy to efficient use

19 April 2015 by Mårten Björk

Mr Michal J. Martin, Senior Executive Consultant of the Global Center of Excellence for Energy & Utilities, recent post on ”Energy Harvesting” provide an excellent description of existing technologies for production and storage of energy. Understandable also to non-engineers. Even to me. Everyone should read it.

Access to energy, and way of managing, is fundamental to growth, reduction of environmental impact, political stability etc within any sustainable society. The successful examples also implemented display an ”organized spinning of already invented wheels” more than introduction of new technology. Improving 100 things with 1% rather than trying to find the one, 100% solution to all challenges. Yes, market economy and financial growth have proven to be the most efficient way to eradicate poverty during the last decades. But so far with destroyed environment as result and with green technology only implemented when someone had the short term financial benefit from.

Success is achieved when many lift their perspectives also to include for what energy is used, by whom and where, co-operating over boarders. As need of energy increase with a necessary growth, and apart from finding better ways of producing it, the most urgent issue today is how to implement existing knowledge to reduce wasting energy. And to avoid killing people when producing- and using it. Despite environmental impact and due to costs, local availability of natural resources etc., use of fossil fuels will continue for decades along with introduction of innovative, ”greener” technologies. As pollution respect no boarders, neither can the solutions.

Sweden is by many considered as a leading example of ”Eco governance”. On how to disconnect increased urbanization, transport and production from emissions. The success has been charaterized by open communication, a non-corrupted, practical, project oriented approach involving governments, architechts, researchers and suppliers developing solutions in co-operation. Scrutinized by the public and its representatives and tried in practice. The concept is now to great extent exported to other countries, in particular to P.R China. Thereby combined with the necessary financial resources for implementation in larger scale as well as with the knowledge and experience from leading Chinese participants contributing in similar way as their Swedish counterparts.

Swedish Eco Governance and Green Technology successful in Beijing!

12 April 2015 by Mårten Björk

The Sino-Sweden Greentech Co-operation Seminar in Beijing last week was very well arranged and exceeded our expectations.
Our sincere thanks to the organizers. The seminars proved to be the perfect platform for Swedish Greentech companies, Chinese urban planners and financiers to connect.

As one of the participants, Elpanneteknik had the pleasure of presenting its emission free heating-and airconditioning solutions for sustainable urban development. The support from Dr Åsa Romson, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Climate and the Environment, and her colleagues from the Swedish Ministry of Environment, was really appreciated.

Elpanneteknik stepping into South East Asian Health Care Sector

11 April 2015 by Mårten Björk

As encouraged by the Swedish and Vietnamese governments, Elpanneteknik Sweden AB took its first steps into the South East Asian Health sector in April offering its solutions for energy efficient and emission free heating and airconditioning for hospitals and pharmaceutical industry within urbanized areas. The team of Elpanneteknik have performed several successful deliveries within this field including Swedish hospitals, Astra Zeneca etc. The most recent delivery is for the Cancer and Tumor hospital in Jinan, P.R China, expected to be up running in May.

I take this opportunity to express our appreciation of the support from Prof. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Minister of Health, Socialistic republic of Vietnam, to Mr Urban Ahlin, Speaker of Swedish Parliament and to Mrs Camilla Mellander, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam who all contributed to fruitful meetings in Hanoi.

Balancing grid through emission free District Heating!

03 April 2015 by Mårten Björk

Elpanneteknik Sweden AB, famous for its installations of high voltage electrode start up steamboilers for Nuclear Power Plants world-wide, is currently installing its High Voltage Hot Water boilers for District / Residential heating. The almost maintenance free systems are installed in boiler rooms situated in urbanized areas throughout P.R China, to great extent owned and managed by Elpanneteknik Shanghai Co Ltd.

The high voltage hot water boilers replace coalfired boilers, thereby reducing airpollution, utilizing the price difference of electricy during “valley periods”. The cost-efficient systems also include cooling machines, thereby providing an alternative also to traditional airconditioning.

As the high voltage electrode boilers can regulate 0-100% within less than 30 seconds, the units are also used to balance the electrical grid thereby enabling connection of windpower etc.

Apart from using its High Voltage Hot Water Boilers for District heating, Immersion type High Voltage Electrode Steamboilers from Elpanneteknik replace fossilfuelled steamboilers for any type of industrial process where steam is required and within areas where airpollution is an issue. The Elpanneteknik team have long experience from supplying Pharmaceutical Industry, Food & Beverage industry as well as of Low Voltage units within marine & offshore.

The success has been spectacular with an increased orderbook of approx. 30 times within the latest 12 months. As a result Elpanneteknik Sweden AB now localize production within key markets, extend into further geographical markets based on similar concepts etc. and is looking for talented, committed indivuals to join its team.

An important customer group is hospitals for which Elpanneteknik now add utilization of energy in waste water and for cleaning of waste water. We welcome further potential partners to propose their solutions in this endeavour as well as any other “Green Technology” companies interested in using Elpannetekniks boiler rooms and relations as “showrooms” to enter international markets.
